Dope Sick Girl

___DOPE SICK GIRL

Dope Sick Girl was first released on a Fat Wreck Chords 7″ in 1993 and was tracked at Westbeach Recorders in Hollywood. Westbeach was a punk rock hot spot in the 1990s-recording NOFX, Pennywise, Bad Religion and Rocket From The Crypt to name a few.. This first appearance of Lars Frederiksen on a Rancid single would rock the known music universe as we once knew it.

***HARD TRAVELIN'

Here’s a tune we just recorded by the “Dust Bowl Troubadour” Woody Guthrie. I alone know a hundred people heavily influenced by Woody- me included.

Goin’ Down That Road

*ART - GOING DOWN THAT ROAD-2

This tune was originally done by rockabilly singer-songwriter Ersel Hickey. Ersel had a hit in the 50s with Bluebirds Over The Mountain. Ersel met Phil Everly (Everly Brothers), who encouraged him to write his own material. So he did. Hickey wrote songs recorded by Richie Valens, The Beach Boys, Jackie Wilson & Lavern Baker too.  Ersel is in the Rockabilly Hall Of Fame. He’s a true rock and roll pioneer. This is our take on this wild jumper!

King of the Jungle

December 27, 2012 | Posted in: | Tagged: , , , ,

Rancid just played with the Last Resort this month on our recent UK tour. Rancid has always been a fan of leader Roi Pearce and the band. We give a nod to them on the song The Ballad of Jimmy and Johnny from our Let’s Go record– “Jimmy Likes Ska, and Johnny Likes Last Resort”. You need look no further than these guys, that we consider one of the greatest punk bands of all time. King Of The Jungle takes you on a journey through the inner-city jungle..This is our take on this great song.
