Apparently this tune was banned from a lot of jukeboxes. Smokey Joe Wood – an Arizona born/ Oklahoma raised vocalist, performed the most well known version with the Modern Mountaineers. The song was originally recorded by them in San Antonio Texas on March 1, 1937 for Bluebird Records.
