___OLD FRIEND

Rancid originally recorded this song for Rancid’s Out Come The Wolves album at Jimi Hendrix’ Electric Lady Studio.. on 8th Street in Greenwich Village. Brett Gurewitz was responsible for recording the vocals for us during that session. We gave this one the Tim Timebomb And Friends treatment..

____WAKE UP

On May 22, 2007 I released A Poets Life on Hellcat Records. To celebrate the 6 year anniversary of that record, here’s a different take on Wake Up. On this day in 2007 I left for Spain and ended up spending several months there. Joe Strummer used to say “You need input in your life to have output”. While in Spain I hung out, relaxed and played music with friends.

Daydreamin’

____DAY DREAMIN

“Daydreamin’” was a honky tonker by Bud Deckelman. The song was actually the B-side of “Let’s Pretend”, the only 7″ single that he recorded for Memphis based Meteor Records in 1955. Meteor hoped to increase the audience for their R&B based country music outside of the South, where Bud was from, by opening a branch of their record label in Hollywood. Bud also recorded a single for Stomper Time Records–also out of Memphis, which had a stable chock full of Hillbillies and Rockabillies. Here’s our take on Daydreamin’.
